Cosmopolitan Twarda Penthouse | Warsaw > 550 m²

Luxury penthouse interior in Warsaw designed by Pierre-Alexis Gilbert
Framed by a doorway, the walk-in dressing room of the Warsaw Cosmopolitan Penthouse is a study in tonal harmony. Floor-to-ceiling bleached oak cabinetry, carried seamlessly across walls and ceiling, creates a cocoon-like atmosphere of warm, enveloping calm. At its centre, a freestanding island unit combines a dark-stained oak base with a pale stone top, anchored by a slender matte black pendant light that draws the eye downward. A silvery, worn-texture rug softens the wide-plank oak floor beneath. In the foreground, a large-format black-and-white photographic artwork introduces an intimate, human counterpoint to the architecture's geometric precision — a quiet reminder that this space, for all its restraint, is designed to be lived in.
A close study of the bespoke coffee table at the heart of the Warsaw Cosmopolitan Penthouse living room. Crafted from richly grained solid wood — its warm amber tones deepened by a high-gloss lacquered surface — the table is composed of staggered, stepped tiers that give it an almost sculptural presence. Inset glass panels introduce a lightness that offsets the weight of the timber. Resting at its centre, a hand-turned wooden bowl, its concentric grain rings exposed in full, reads as both decorative object and quiet homage to the natural material language of the space. A coffee table book and a cream linen sofa in the background complete the composed, editorial stillness of the frame.

Pierre-Alexis Gilbert develops residential and hospitality interiors defined by proportion, material and atmosphere.

The master bathroom of the Warsaw Cosmopolitan Penthouse embodies a refined dialogue between stone and wood. A double floating vanity in honed limestone, paired with wall-mounted polished chrome fixtures, anchors the space with quiet elegance. A triptych of oversized mirror panels amplifies the natural light and reflects the warm tones of the bleached oak panelling that lines every surface. Beyond the open partition, the walk-in dressing room reveals bespoke cabinetry with dark-stained drawer units, crowned by a slender pendant light — a deliberate counterpoint to the room's otherwise pale, serene palette. A freestanding soaking tub, glimpsed in the foreground, completes this intimate retreat where every material choice speaks to understated luxury.

Architectural Detail – Stone & Structure

Nestled within the protected landscape of Saint-Tropez, this private residence was entrusted to architect Pierre-Alexis Gilbert, who conceived both its architectural identity and spatial experience.

At first glance, the house reveals itself as a mineral stronghold — discreet, almost introspective. Yet beyond this restrained façade, the architecture unfolds dramatically, opening entirely toward the sea and the surrounding horizon.

Despite the stringent coastal regulations, Pierre-Alexis Gilbert masterfully navigated the constraints to deliver a residence defined by exceptional volumes. Generous ceiling heights exceeding 3.4 meters enhance the sense of space, light, and fluidity, giving the home a distinctive and singular character.

The project balances strength and openness, intimacy and vastness — a refined dialogue between architecture and landscape.
